FAQ's

Q. Does the BST CAP (T7316E+T24) replace the M-Series CAP (M7324+CAP)?
A. Yes, the BST CAP will be the central answering position for Norstar and BCM. Due to software support schedules, the M7324 CAP will remain available through calendar year 2003.

Q. Does the T7316E replace the T7316?
A. Yes, the T7316E replaces the T7316 for Norstar and BCM. The T7316E is backwards compatible and will function identical to the T7316 when installed on Norstar (pre-release 6.1) and BCM (pre-release 3.5).

Q. Is the T24 KIM backwards compatible?
A. No, the T24 KIM does not function on software releases prior to Norstar 6.1 and BCM 3.5. For such solutions, the M7324+CAP are recommended.

Q. Can the T7316 support the T24 KIM?
A. No, the T7316 cannot support the T24 KIM. The T24 KIM is only compatible with the T7316E and Norstar 6.1 and/or BCM 3.5 software.

Q. Will there be an installed base program for evolving customers from the M7324+CAP and T7316 solutions to the BST CAP?
A. Yes, there will be installed base packages that include the T7316E, T24, and MICS 6.1 software cartridge at a special price. See the Norstar 6.1 Sales and Marketing bulletin for details.
