Cedar Health Centre is a brand new health centre in Portlaoise, Ireland. With two floors and six treatment rooms, the centre offers a variety of medical services including dentistry and pharmacy.
Customer Need
The health centre was looking for a basic telephony solution to support its suite of treatment rooms, surgery and waiting room. This solution would be extended to rooms on the upper floors available for use by other medical professionals, helping the health centre to generate additional revenue.
However, discussions with Avaya soon demonstrated the value of extra features such as voicemail, call recording, out-of-hours call diversion and a highly reliable data network, in one system.
Avaya Solution
A highly available network core based upon an actively resilient configuration provided by the Avaya Business Communication Manager 50 - one of the most cost-effective, full-featured small business IP telephony solutions on the market. This was complemented by handsets from the Avaya Business Series Terminals T7316E range, designed to cater for high volumes of calls. Finally, a Avaya Ethernet Switch 470 was used to deliver the data backbone of the network.
